I am pleased to report that the club continues to thrive and we have had another successful year. Our 1st XI under the captaincy of John Richardson finished 3rd in Division D, our 2nd XI under the captaincy of Mark Priestley won Division K and therefore promoted to Division K. Our Youth teams continued to play well with our Kwik cricketers winning the South West Division without losing a match.

This year we have made some changes to the pavilion including a trophies cabinet and an improved notice board and outside, with the help of a grant from the Lords Taverners, sponsorship and various money raising events, we have laid a new all weather strip.

I have to express a special thanks to Stuart Basford for his work as Treasurer.This is a stressful role which Stuart carries out very efficiently and with sensible guidance.

AUDITORS AND TREASURES REPORT

Auditor Paul Burns submitted a report that he had found the Treasurers records have once again been kept up to a high standard and Stuart Basford should be commended on this.

The Treasure reported that the club had a reasonable year, but match taxes had decreased over the season by £800. Bar takings were down with a decrease of 18%.

It was suggested by the committee that the club and players plus businesses sponsor match balls at a cost of £15 per match

FIXTURE SECRETARY'S REPORT

Paul Burns stated that a few phone calls had to be made. Most fixtures were straight forward because a lot of teams wanted an away fixture at our ground for three reasons (a) a nice ground (b) a friendly team and (c) our teas.

CAPTAINS REPORT

2nd XI: Mark Priestley said the team had a fantastic season winning 11 of the 18 matches. Highlights were Shiraz Kayani scoring 2 x 100's, Mark Sampson and Inam Maliks 10th wicket partnership of 60 and Jonty Rye's performances behind the wicket filling in for John Dewsbury

3rd XI: The team played 18 matches, recording 5 wins, 6 losses and 7 cancelled. Highlights were Nick Proverbs 138 not out and Richard McArdle 5 wickets for 21 runs and likewise Mark Sampson 5 wickets for 21 runs.

Sunday friendly XI: Highlights Tom Rye 135 runs against Barrow, Rajiv Govindarajan 104 against Long Whatton. Most wickets Steve McCulloch 17.

KWIK CRICKET

Mark Priestley said that Thrumpton Shaw had won the league for the 4th year in a row. Thrumpton Seymour won one match. Thankyou to Rae Shaw for scoring and to all parents for their help.
