3. Haydn Keast

Haydn Keast came to England in 2007 on a year out from New Zealand. To supplement his living he worked at the Yew Tree Lodge in Kegworth pulling pints. It didn't take him long to find the benefits of playing at Thrumpton, the home of Village cricket.

He was a fast opening right armed bowler who was quite handy with the bat. His memories of playing for Thrumpton include the Khan Forbes glare and confrontation with the opening bowler at Thurgaton and being a member of the Andy Pick pub crawl around the shifty bars of Nottingham.

Other memories include batting with a skinny young Martin Weightman whilst he bossed a century for us to win in a high scoring run chase and his last memory was the unforgettable Thrumpton tea.

Since returning home he has played Premier League cricket in Auckland, first for Cornwall CC and now Waitakeere City CC. He now works as an auditor for KPMG as is now a Chartered Accountant.

After being together for 8 years he is now married to Jessica and are recently proud parents of baby girl Josie who was born in November 2011
