Once again Hubert Arthur Cursham turned out for Thrumpton Cricket Club and yet again he was in the runs

It was thought that the ex Notts County and England International footballer turned out for just one game for the club.

We now have 3 games that he played with another game yet to be entered on to the site from the 1897 season making it 4 and in each game he made an influence with his batting skills.

Being the cousin of William Cursham who lived at the Manor House in Thrumpton, he was definitely coerced to turn out for the team on occasions when available.

Henry Cursham held the record as the player who had scored the most ever goals in the FA Cup being 49 in total over 10 years. He had played for England 8 times as a footballer.

Henry Arthur "Harry" Cursham (27 November 1859 — 6 August 1941) was an English footballer and cricketer. Cursham was born in Wilford, Nottinghamshire, and played for Notts County, as well as playing first-class cricket for Nottinghamshire. He was born in Wilford and died in Holme Pierrepont.

His cricketing career was slightly different playing 2 games for Nottinghamshire. His first being in 1880 and his second some 44 years later.
