Pavilion Development Thank You

Pavilion Development Thank You

Nigel Barrett17 Feb - 11:07

Thank you to everyone for their support in improving Thrumpton pavilion facilities

Early in 2023 the Clubs then Chairman Mark Priestley and Committee recognised we needed to create a more "Welcoming Enviroment" which would help attract new players of all ages and improve our social membership.

To achieve this it was decided we would have to:-

Remake the original Patio area and add in two new footpaths.

Make major changes to the Bar and Kitchen locations, to create extra space for these areas to operate more effectively and build two storage areas. Thus making the Pavilions internal space function better for all.

So plans were drawn, quotes obtained and to compliment these changes, the interior of the pavilion would also get a long overdue new coat of paint and "Gantys"entrance gate repainted to.

Just before the start of the 2024 season the work was completed and I am pleased to report (as evidenced by the Clubs 2024 Year End Financial Statement) the Bar has almost doubled its Turnover from the previous Financial Year End and our Club membership has increased too.

However in achieving this, the Club must acknowledge the above changes and there subsequent benefits, would not have happened without the necessary Funding Support and the Hard work of Club Members.

So the Clubs sincere thanks and appreciation must go to the following and to everyone involved in making the Committees aspirations come to fruition:-

ECB County Grants Scheme - "Creating Welcoming Environment & Social Space" a Grant Award of £10,000.

East Midlands Airport Community Funding Committee - £1200 towards the cost of creating two new paths capable of providing Disabled access.

Trent Bridge "Club Development Officer" Joe Fish - for his support and guidance in obtaining the ECB Grant.

To John Hellier a Club member and professional electrician, who in his own time and expense, carried out all the required rewiring and electrical updates to the pavilion.

To all dedicated Club Members, who spent many days and evenings redecorating the Pavilion and to Kim Millband for an excellent job of refurbishment/repainting of Ganty's entrance gate.

Committee Member of T C C
