9. 1860


This the first match of Nottingham Milton Cricket Club was played on Thursday June 6th 1860 at Thrumpton. Thrumpton having won the toss, sent their opponents to the wicket, who succeeded in obtaining 82 runs. The batting of Hooper, J Woodward and Litchfield was much admired.. Thrumpton only succeeded i obtaining 13 runs. Messrs Nixon and Thorpe played well but the bowling and fielding were too good for them. The Nottingham Milton cricket Cluballowed them to follow their Innings, but they only succeeded in obtaining 46 runs. The feilding of Samuel Danks at point being the admiration of the beholder.
