The Thrumpton cap bound for Florida shipwrecked during a tropical storm, has found himseld blown off course. The tides have taken him to West Indies
His latest message back to the club reads
After days lost at sea and hours on the beach after luckily being washed up I met a fellow cap who took me under his wing and explained where I was..........I was in Barbados......what a stroke of luck that was for a cricketing cap to find his way here!!.
My new friend was from Windward Cricket Club and he and I got on like a house on fire sharing stories of players gone by.........Wes Hall, Garry Sobers, Gordon Greenidge...................Dick Chettle, Neil Shaw, Thomas Seymour.
He took me up to the club after telling me it was match day but he wasn't sure if they would be playing as they'd had some rain. We sat on the bar chatting for ages while the umpires inspected and then had a chat with the groundsman............I told them "Steve Weightman would have had the game on by now"..............
They had a bright idea which I will tell you about next week, Weighty keep watchin!!
Burnsy waits in anticipation. Have they got covers where the wheels don't need inflating every two minutes or some other invention
