Bill & Susie Alexander emigrated happily to Capetown South Africa at the end of December 2009. They were both active members of the club with Susie running the bar and also the minutes secretary at the committee meetings. Bill regretfully was the retiring Chairman before emigrating. He played 21 years for Notts Amateurs before retiring and then moving to Thrumpton village in 1997. He did the Umpires course and with his vast knowledge of the game served on the Thrumpton committee before becoming Chairman between 2007 and 2009. Living so close to the ground he was always on hand to sort out the odd rogue cow that got on the ground.

"The club hope with his experience of herding cattle it leaves him in good stead with the odd zebra encroaching his new garden".
