A general meeting was held at Thrumpton Hall on Friday 11th December 1987 in the presence of 18 members. Mr G Seymour took the chair. Apologies were received from Mr M Priestley, Mr R Smithson and Mr R Pick.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and were signed by the Chairman to be a correct record.
The Treasurers Mr S Pepper then gave a report on the financial situation during the last season. A bill for £664 had been paid to Hyvale for the repair of the gangmower.
A Square dance in the Village Hall raised a total of £252. Our thanks to Mark Priestley and Andy Footitt for organising the event.. Our thanks also to Andy Pick for donatingthe cricket bat which raised £74 and was won by Bob Pick.
The Annual Subscriptions had been raised to £10and at the end of the season a total of £319 pounds and 74p was in the Building Society.. A vote of thanks was given to Steven for his work in keeping the accounts.
A total of 51 matches were played during the season and the averages were as above.
The captains were then elected for the 1988 season as follows

A vote was taken for the Player and Clubman of the Year and both were won by Andy Footitt.
It was also agreed to bestow a life membership on Mr W Pepper for his loyal support and interest in the club.
A date of June 12th was set for the Presidents XI match in 1988. It was arranged that the Presentation dinner would be held at Grange Farm Toton and a date of February 29th was decided upon..
Trevor Vennett Smith outlined the rule changes in the South Notts Village League and explained how the bonus points system worked.
In the Any Other Business section Ivan Adkin recommended that a letter be sent to Andy Pick congratulating him on his outstanding season playing for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. Also that the toilets on the ground be cleared more often as all the ground crews did not take their turns to do this when it was their turn to do ground week. . Also discussed was that the covers needed repairing as the wicket was in a much better condition when they were used.
Anyone wanting to order Caps, Badges and Ties to let Ivan know.
The meeting closed at 9pm with a vote of thanks was given to Mr Seymour for his continued support and interest in the club.
