Matters Arising:
Mark Sampson has checked the paint situation. Plenty of white paint for sightscreens. Not enough green paint to do the pavilion floor – leave until the end of the season.
Solid wheels for covers are now available – just need fitting.
A Night at the Dogs has been organised for Friday 5th April – tickets available at £5 each from Mark Sampson.
Groundwork:
Steve Weightman said that the outfield had been cut before the snow has arrived. Also the square had been rolled and reseeded. No other work carried out due to weather conditions.
The Nottinghamshire Olympic Legacy Fund has provisionally offered the Club £11,000 towards projects of replacing the fencing around the ground and outfield drainage. It will leave the Club to find the remaining monies. Divert the money set aside for the barge boards to the fund. Any other monies to be added into fund. Rae Shaw has said that she would offer to pay upto £1,000 (interest free) to the Club if that was the final figure to be found – Paul Burns is contacting the Legacy Fund again to see if we can get anymore money from them. The fencing will take approximately two days to complete. The electric fence will be removed and new fencing to be monitored for damage by cattle. Steve Weightman has asked for another gate (sliding if possible) to be situated elsewhere within the fencing. The soak away for the drainage will be behind the scorebox in the field – Paul Burns to contact drainage company to see if the ground does require the full amount of drainage corridors to main soak away pipe.
Pavilion Matters:
Delay work on barge boards.
Paul Burns said that the water in the pavilion as not yet been turned on. Will decide, weather permitting next week.
Playing Matters:
Joe Richardson sent a message to the meeting via Mark Sampson informing the Club that Arpan Desai would not be returning this season – he has joined Radcliffe On Trent.
Jordan Whitehead is definitely back for this season.
A cousin of former player Usman Kappaya has arrived from Pakistan and has signed on for the club. Usair Naveed is a 15 year old bowler.
Another potential player, Sam Freeman from Lambley has expressed an interest in joining the Club but he has had a knee operation but is hopeful he will be ready for the season.
Another new player has attended nets (saw flyer in local Co-op in West Bridgford), contacted Paul Burns who told him where and when the nets were. Richard Clay is a senior player (has played in the Derbyshire League for Denby) and is a batsmen/wicket keeper.
Dominic Thelen is going to be missing for the first 10 weeks of the season due to his commitments in Africa.
It has been requested by players to see if the nets can be extended for another 4 weeks (starting Good Friday, missing the following Friday and then recommencing 12th April till 26th April) – Paul Burns going to contact Becket School to see if possible.
