Minutes of meeting held on
Monday 21st May 2012
At the Pavilion Thrumpton

Matters Arising:
Jubilee committee have informed the Club that they are bringing their own plastic glasses and bunting for Diamond Jubilee celebrations on June 4th 2012 - start time 2pm and finishing around 5pm.
E-on fixture is being organised by Mark Priestley.
Welcome packs are awaiting the handbooks and then they will be handed out.
Next statement due at the end of the month, so the Treasurer will check to see if any monies have been paid in by East Midland Community Fund. If no monies have been paid in, the Chair will contact the Community Fund.
Steven Pepper is still awaiting his CRB back. John & Joe Richardson have received their CRB’s back.
The Chairman has sent out letters to David Gant’s sisters thanking them for their donations.
Miranda Seymour has given permission for the Club to do a Car Boot sale on Monday 27th August 2012 (Bank Holiday Monday). The Club will need to advertise this event well, using flyers in all local villages, advert in Evening Post, on the Club website etc. Peter Benson is checking the Club insurance. A working party is required for event i.e. marshals, bar/catering staff etc. Arrange a meeting for working party.
Groundwork:
Steve Weightman met Michael Aplin from Attenborough CC who looks after their ground and other grounds in the vicinity with regards to ground movement. He has suggested that we just monitor the situation.
Steve Weightman & Michael Aplin noticed a slight fungal infection and red thread on the square. Steve is obtaining some treatment for it.
Steve Weightman also noticed that the alarm for the garage is not working. Suggest trying tonight after meeting.
The last couple of nights, the memorial gate and the wooden gate at side of the nets have been left open.
Mark Priestley has taken the lock for the main gate because it was broken and is trying to repair.
The Club has acquired a new grass cutter.
Pavilion Matters:
Water heater is not working – possible heater element fault – Paul Burns to get friend to check.
The money raised from additional tea kitty is going towards a 2nd hand fridge freezer.
Wastecycle are now collecting the rubbish and we only collect a minimum of 10 bags at a time.
Stuart Basford has received a quote from Dave Newton for facia boards, guttering etc of £1500.00.
Peter Benson to check Club Insurance with regards to Car Park liability for Clubmark.
Playing Matters:
The Club has lost 5 players who have moved to different clubs;
Trevor Vennett-Smith to East Bridgford
Inam Malik to Lowdham
Vikas Sharma to Caribs
Dave Fowkes to Calverton
Jordan Whitehead to Lambley
Both teams have been struggling to raise sides due to the lack of players – University players are now starting to reappear.
The Club have been unable to contact John Stanley – Steve Weightman to see if he can spot him through the village and speak to him.
Zaf Iqbal will not be available for 4 weeks.
Fixtures:
All fixtures have been filled.
Mark Priestley to amend U12’s fixtures – 1 home and 1 away.
The U15’s cup match is to be decided on a bowl off or on the toss of a coin.
Treasurers Report and Funding:
Steve Pick passed a cheque to Stuart Basford for Match Ball Sponsorship from Superior Clean.
Not a lot of money coming in but bills still need paying.
Steve Pick to send out letter to Trevor Vennett-Smith about match ball sponsorship.
Clubmark:
Nothing to report at the moment – just an ongoing process.
Child Protection:
Kieran Clark has put a Code of Conduct practice on the main notice board in the pavilion. Also additional notices regarding all aspects of Child Protection have been placed on notice boards in the main pavilion and in both changing rooms.
Copies of all relevant CRB’s and coaching certificates are to be passed onto Kieran Clark.
Kieran has left incident forms in a folder which is to be left at the ground, also Kieran will a hard copy book/register at home.
Youth and Kwik Cricket:
Up to now there has been two outdoor training sessions with plenty of players attending.
The youth section had 20+ players attending last Saturday (19.5.2012)
There is an U12 fixture confirmed for Wednesday 23.5.2012.
There is an U13 fixture confirmed for Tuesday 29.5.2012.
AOB:
Rae – The Bishop of Southwell is visiting the Club this Saturday (26.5.2012) at about 4pm.
* A dinner has been organised by The Broad Appeal and have asked the Club whether it would like to attend – a maximum of 10 per table – the committee have said it will attend.
John – His son Joe is doing the Robin Hood ½ marathon with ½ the funds going to David Gant appeal and the remainder to the Club
Paul – Have been in contact with Trent Bridge with regards to Winter Nets for 2013 about a change of day, the only day available is Sunday between 6-7pm – Steve Weightman suggested that Paul should check the prices and availability of the nets at the Becket School – Paul to report back
- Need to obtain scorebooks for youth cricket.
- Bar Rota needs to be sorted
- A Presentation Plate to be put on the fence at side of the David Gant Memorial Gate explaining
who David was etc
* Make a presentation to Theresa Pick for her loyal service to the Club over the past 14 years
Nick – Sky TV are coming down to record a section for Cricket AM for speed gun quickest bowling on Tuesday 26th June 2012 – start at 5pm filming at 6pm. This is open to all clubs in Nottinghamshire.
Mark P – Youth Presentation is on Friday 27th July 2012.
