Minutes from the meeting Jan 10 2012 held at the Sun Inn Gotham

Before the meeting commenced, Rae Shaw read an email from David Fowkes. The email explained that due to ill health, David Fowkes had reluctantly resigned from his position of Club Welfare Officer. It was agreed that Rae would send out a letter of reply from the Club expressing their sadness at his decision but understood his circumstances.
Matters Arising:
Mark Sampson has sent the cheque back to Nottinghamshire CC for funding of Coach Training Courses.
The new Club website is being updated on a regular basis.
Groundwork:
No issues everything OK at present.
The Club has purchased a new carpet and padding for mobile net at a cost of £375.00. This has since been washed and is now in front of the pavilion awaiting installation.
The new netting cost has been passed by the Committee at a total cost of £2084.52 – this price includes the purchase of the above said carpet and padding, complete new netting for static netting plus add on and a Tildernet netting and skirt for mobile net.
The new electric fence gives off quite a fierce jolt if touched, it was suggested that we attached warning signs around the fence as a safety precaution.
Pavilion Matters:
The guttering and barge board needs repairing/replacing – damaged when mobile net got blown into it during the last high wind session – Stuart to obtain prices.
Playing Matters:
Mark Priestley has spoken to a possible new player who has moved into the village about joining the Club for next season. Mark has said that he would be welcome to attend the Senior nets at Trent Bridge.
Adam Pick has stated that due to personal circumstances he would not be available for this season unless it is a real emergency and he would step in.
Fixtures:
All league fixtures are now on the Club website. The 1st XI have now got 20 fixtures this season (which includes two Bank Holidays – one at the beginning of May and one at the end of August). The 2nd XI have got 18 fixtures.
The Sunday fixtures start on April 7th 2012. Paul Burns has got a couple of dates to fill in.
The Presidents fixture has been confirmed as Sunday 1st July.
The T20 tournament has been set aside for Sunday 8th July – opposition TBA.
Paul Burns has asked whether the Club would like any midweek Touring matches in the season. This was agreed by the Committee – arrange for around same time of the year.
Treasurers Report & Funding:
The Football pontoon – money owing to the Club in the region of £120 – since the meeting the football pontoon has been suspended.
Stuart Basford gave Steve Pick a list of all match ball sponsors for letters to be sent out – Steve Pick to send out letters.
Clubmark:
The Clubs constitution has been refined and revamped to meet with ECCB standards.
Various posters and other appropriate paperwork to be displayed on notice boards within the Club Pavilion.
The Club must now sort out a new Welfare Officer due to David Fowkes resignation – see below under Child Protection.
There is a new field of opportunity for a youth/young playing member to start in the field of coaching called Young Leadership – Mark Sampson has since informed the Secretary that Dominic Thelen has been booked on the course.
Youth and Kwik Cricket:
All three teams (U12's, U13's & U15's) have been entered into the Leagues.
A youth committee meeting to be organised for 25th January 2012 starting at 7.30pm.
Jack Towers has been selected for Nottinghamshire CC

List to be sent to Mark Priestley.
Life Memberships:
Rae Shaw has nominated the following people to become Life Members – John Dewsbury, Harry Pick and Linda Gant.
AOB:
Rae Shaw - Mrs Seymour is celebrating her 90th birthday in October. Does the club wish to make some form of celebration – Rae has since sent an email after speaking to family members, Rae has suggested the Club do something in September instead.
- Presentation & Open Evening provisionally arranged for Friday 20th April starting at 7pm. Presentation of Trophies and Dedication of David Gant's Gate – dates have been accepted by members of David Gant's family.
Mark Sampson - Mark produced a proof newsletter at the meeting asking what people thought of the idea – if passed he would organise a newsletter 3 times a year.
Paul Burns – Bar rota for next season.
– The race night organised for Friday 7th September – could it be moved to the following Friday 14th September due to Paul being on holiday. Stuart Basford to check availability of Gotham Memorial Hall and let Paul know.
Stuart Basford – The Club should be proud of former player Martin Weightman who has been asked to attend Nottinghamshire's tour of the Caribbean in February to be based in Grenada.
Ray Smithson – the Club should try to obtain sponsorship for next season.
Mark Priestley – Club hoodies available for £15.
Steve Pick – Looking for any old Club scorebooks to update website.
