1991 Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting was held at Thrumpton Hall on November 18th 1991. The chair was taken by the President Mr G Seymour. Apologies were received from M Shaw, G Shaw, R Pick and J Griffiths. Due to the absence of the Secretary Maureen Shaw, the minutes of the last meeting were read out by Mr I Adkin and signed by Hon Mr G Seymour as a correct record.
Chairmans Report
The Chairman read out his report which was very detailed, a copy of it was circulated to each person present. He made particular note of all the hard work that the tea ladies put into the club and the thanks that he owed them. He thanked Jim Smith for the trophy that he had presented to the club and will be known as the “Jim Smith Trophy”and be awarded by the Committee to someone ho has shown special commitment to the club and need not necessarily be a player.
Matters from the Report
Andrew Footitt proposed a rise in Club Subs. Annual Subsription to be increased from 10 pounds to 20 pounds (Juniors unchanged at 5 pounds) and match tax from 1 pound to 2 pound. Seconded by TV Smith it was duly passed.
Steve Pepper suggested the sale of lottery tickets should continue. Ivan Adkin asked for the captains to be given a list of players who had not paid their annual subs
Treasurers Report
Walter pepper gave his detailed Treasurers report with 2666.48p of income and 2089.42p of expenditure leaving an account balance of 577.06p. While this seems a healthy amount, one had to remember the high costs and the need for a new pavilion.. Mr Seymour thanked Mr Pepper for all his hard work.
Fixture Secretary’s Report
Ron Priestley presented the clubs results and averages, he said that he would like to thank Ray Smithson for taking on the work of sorting out the averages from a very untidy book.due to the shortage of a regular scorer.
